My daughter is the youngest of the four of our children. She also happens to be the only girl. Her bedroom furniture has been passed down from the older boys. Her headboard was part of the crib that we got for my 14 year old when he was born. The dresser she is using was his dresser/changing table. Anyway, everything in her room needed a little facelift and some organizing. That was my task this week.
First, I picked up this little chest of drawers at a garage sale a few weeks back for only $5 and decided to paint it white for her room. I’m storing all her baby doll clothes in here.
Then I pulled out her old dresser/changing table and painted it white too.
I love the results.
Then as I got to the point of putting her things back I decided to organize a little.
This is how I organize her hair clips and ponytails. I got these little containers at my dollar store for $1.
Then I picked up some other little containers to store her makeup and other odds and ends. Once again only $1.
Like I told you a few weeks back when I was organizing my dining room closet, we only have closets in two rooms in this 100 year old home and this room is not one of them. So my husband made built in shelves on the one side of her room and a little built in closet on the other.
This is one of my favorite pictures of all time. My husband took this just a few days after our daughter was born. This is her grasping his hand. I dislike the frame greatly so I took a shot at sprucing it up a bit too.
