Ok, you may think I’ve been dragging my feet about revealing my closet office but really I haven’t. I have a bunch of posts I’d like to write about the nitty gritty of how this closet office came to be, but I just can’t seem to get them written yet. So, I’m going to go ahead and just show you the whole shebang now and I’ll back track later. So without further ado…
BEFORE:
During:
We removed the wall next to the closet to reveal the whole closet space. You can see the entire demolition HERE.
Then we covered the wall with this new plank wall. You can see the easy plank wall installation HERE.
To make the desk for this space, we turned an old dresser into this great desk. All of the details of that project are found HERE.
AFTER:
So, what do you think?? I LOVE it!
I’ve got much more to show you. You are NEVER going to believe what we made those top cabinets from!!
Be sure to follow along to get all the details about my new office space.

This turned out great! It really opens the entire room up, and I like that it doesn’t look all claustrophobic like most closet turned offices you see. I love it, and it caught my eye at the C.R.A.F.T party–I had to stop by!
I would love it if you stopped by our Facebook page, and said “hello!”

Just found your blog and it’s incredible – it will take me days to catch up on all of your wonderful posts! AND I love your office in a closet.
Cheryl @ Artzzle says
Many old homes have these “skinny” closets with one little door that opens to a long empty area difficult to access or use. Wonderful redo here. In a bedroom, we once opened up an entire wall of the room to provide more closet area.

Fabulous! This looks great and I know it will give you years of great use, much better than a closet! Super Job!

Carrie,
Wow! This is amazing! I thought we were doing good when we turned our closet into an office, but wow, nothing like this. In our defense, the house was for sale, so I didn’t want anything too permanent. I am so impressed with this. It’s just beautiful. Great job.

What did you do with the wall stud? Did you just knock it down or did you use a different thing for the structural support?
