One of my kids’ favorite things to do during the Winter is ski. Honestly, I hardly even see the two oldest kiddos anymore…they will ski day or night and in almost any temperature. A few weeks ago, they were out for over 5 hours and the high that day was 5 degrees. Yeah, pretty crazy, huh? Anyway, I make them bundle up with lots and lots of layers and I made these fleece neck warmers to keep their neck, cheeks, and noses toasty too.
These are really easy to make…like 10 minutes start to finish.
Step 1: Cut your fleece to size.
I had an old fleece blanket that I wasn’t using anymore that I repurposed for this particular one. I used an old fleece scarf for the one I made for my princess.
These measurements are for my son’s neck. Each individual will need to be measured around their nose and then from the nose to the base of the neck. This will tell you how big to cut the fleece. Add a half inch seam allowance. Cut 2 pieces using your measurements or you can do it like I did…Cut one big piece and fold it in half. I’ll show you that later.
Step 2: Sew the long sides of your material together, wrong side out.
I only had to sew this side because I folded my material in half instead of cutting two pieces.
Step 3: Turn the material right side out and sew the short sides of the material together.
Once these are sewn together, the warmer will look like this:
Now flip the material so your seam is on the inside of the warmer.
It will look like a cylinder of material, a wide legwarmer, or what it really is…a toasty fleece neck warmer.
That’s it. It should take about 10 minutes and will save you a good $15 or $20.
So if you have some skiers in the family or just some kiddos that get cold during these frigid months, whip up one of these neck warmers… Your toasty one will thank you!
Stay Warm!!

That is an awesome idea!!! Not as bulky as a scarf!
