My kiddos have started voicing their Christmas gift ideas and with all the music, movies, and decorations that are already infiltrating their minds…I’m not surprised. What I was surprised about was that one of my kiddos asked for a toy…not just any toy, but a virtual toy. He wanted us to pay real money for a virtual toy he could play with within one of his video games. This disturbed me…virtual toys as gifts?? Call me old-fashioned but I miss the days of playing outside all day, not as punishment but as fun…only coming in because my mom hollered to us that it was time for dinner. This year, I’m really hoping that we can get back to that, at least a little with the gifts we purchase for our kids and the memories we make by doing things with them.
One thing that has recently gotten my kiddos away from their electronic devices is the hobby of archery. My Princess started taking an archery class about a year ago and really loves it. It has improved her hand-eye coordination, increased her ability to focus, and although she’s not very athletic, she has been able to participate and actually enjoy this new skill.
A few weeks ago, she was gifted a Genesis bow and it was like Christmas in October! She was so excited to open the box and see the perfect-for-her bow designed specifically for her.
Genesis Bows have helped get millions of kids into the fast-growing sport of archery. The Genesis Original is the official bow of the National Archery in the Schools (NASP) and is used in over 13,000 schools by over 2 million youth across the U.S. Annually. These specific Genesis compound bows are a wonderful gift for kids as they can’t outgrow them, they have a 15″ to 30″ draw length so everyone in the family can use the bow to shoot (all six of us have tried it!!), they are extremely safe and have maintained a zero archery-related injury record, and the really fun thing about this bow is that it can be customized using the Genesis Build-a-Bow tool on their website.
We had the privilege of going to the Genesis website and customizing almost every part of the bow. My Princess loves pink and so pink and pink camouflage with black and grey accents was her choice, but quite honestly, the possibilities are just about endless.
NOW, I am SOOO excited that not only do I get to tell you about the fun WE’VE had with Genesis Bows, but I get to give one away to one very blessed reader. Before you enter the giveaway be sure to visit Genesis Archery on YouTube to find out more about these bows and how they’d make a great gift this holiday season. (THIS GIVEAWAY HAS NOW ENDED)

My boys would LOVE a bow for Christmas!! They also loved the archery class, but know if they had one at home they could practice more often! They both said they would like to compete with their dad and having one at home would help them with that!
