We live in the snow belt of North Eastern Ohio. Our winters are bad…and by bad, I mean they start in October and end in, well, it snowed on May 15th this year. We typically see well over 100 inches of snow between those months and the cold, blowy brutality is…well…brutal. We as a family love to ski and so that makes the winter months pass a little more quickly but during those months, we long for THIS day every year. This is the first day that the sun is shining beautifully, the temperature is in the 70’s, and the grill is heating up to cook out and eat on the deck for the first time in 8 months!!! I LOVE this day!!!
When it comes to cooking out, I’ve told you many times before, I would choose a burger over a steak ANY day, probably because My Better Half has a knack for making burgers SO good. He knows how to cook them just the way I like them and top them with my favorite goodies. Today I’ve got a plan for a deliciously tasty burger for you to try as we head into summer.
I’m at Giant Eagle a couple times every week anyway and they are always ready to handle my grilling needs, with handy displays and all the ingredients I needed for tonight’s dinner and the rest of our summer cook-outs.
SO, to kick off our summer grilling tonight, I stopped at Giant Eagle (a shopper’s grilling headquarters) for dinner supplies. I’m not big on handling raw meat but a good handmade burger is always better (in my opinion), so I picked up the Market District Gourmet Seasoned Beef Burgers from behind the meat counter. These are fresh, juicy, hearty burgers.
To make my delicious Western burger, I chose the Beef BBQ burger and although it is good on its own, the best part for me is the toppings.
I added Hellmann’s Mayonnaise, Heinz BBQ Sauce (both are found in the condiments aisle at Giant Eagle), and all my other favorite condiments to make this burger personalized for me. Finally, I add my favorite part…some crispy onion rings. This takes the deliciousness to a whole new level!!
- Market District Gourmet Seasoned Beef Burgers
- Hamburger Buns
- Hellmann’s Mayonnaise
- Heinz BBQ Sauce
- Onion Rings
- American Cheese (sliced)
- Any of your other favorite condiments
- Bake onion rings according to directions on packaging.
- Grill Market District Gourmet Seasoned Beef Burgers until cooked through and then top with cheese.
- Add your favorite condiments to bun, including Hellmann's Mayonnaise.
- Place burger on bun and then top with onion rings.
- Drizzle Heinz BBQ sauce on top of onion rings.
- Place top bun on onion rings.
- Serve immediately.
I added Giant Eagle Pretzels to our meal and topped it all off with Lipton Ready to Drink Tea… because don’t you think peach tea just tastes like summer!!??
It’s gonna be such a fun night! I’m SO looking forward to cookouts, LONG summer evenings, and lots of memory-making. What are some of the fun things you’re looking forward to this summer??
