Our Seven Dwarfs has some really great crafty sign tutorials on her site. A couple weeks ago I saw one for a bathroom sign I just had to try.
I immediately thought of these melamine cabinet doors I had picked up at Restore a few weeks ago for $2 and decided to give this sign a shot.
This is my version of it.
First, I just took one of the melamine doors and distressed it a little. I sanded the edges, threw some rocks at it (great stress reliever) and hit it with a wire brush. Then I went over it with stain to darken the edges and give it an antique white look.
This was after the distressing. It looked pretty beat up. Next I cut out my letters from my Cricut and stuck them on. I then covered it all with a clear top coat.
