I have walked past the bucket of handsaws at my ReStore probably 50 times wondering what I could do with one of them. Finally, I picked up a few and decided to take them home and wait for the inspiration. It hit last week and I was really excited with the results.
After spray painting the letters on, I used a piece of ScotchBrite to distress them a bit. The rust from the saw turned the letters a bit…rusty. It’s not easy to see in this picture but the “WIL” has been “rusted” and the other letters haven’t been…yet.
I then just clear coated them to seal them up and they were good to go. Both of these are for gifts. I can’t wait to make one for my front porch.
These are two of the finished products.
These were only $2 each at my ReStore and I think they make a really nice gift. I can’t wait to start my next ReStore project.
