Ok, I know, I haven’t posted a recipe in a while but frankly, I haven’t made anything worth posting about… until yesterday. My mom sent me her recipe for Cheeseburger Soup and although yesterday was pretty warm here in NE Ohio, I just had to make this soup. It is genuine cheesy cheeseburger in a bowl. My mouth is watering just writing about it…I know…pathetic. Anyway, here’s the recipe I used. My mom adds more ground meat than I did but I’m cheap frugal.
Here’s how I made it:
Place all the below ingredients into a large pot.
1 1/2 pound ground meat cooked ( I use ground turkey)
11 Small Potatoes diced
2 large onions chopped (could use onion flakes too)
1 cup diced celery
1 1/4 cup shredded carrots
2 TBSP parsley flakes
Cover veggies with water and add 1/4 cup (or to taste) of chicken soup base. Cook until veggies are soft and cooked down.
Once the veggies have cooked down, add:
12 oz American Cheese
1 pkg of cheese mix that came in a boxed macaroni & cheese
Stir until completely melted and then serve.
YUM YUM

Okay, I just ate dinner and I’m still craving this! It looks delicious! Have you or your mom ever tried it in a crock pot? I’m guessing it would be the same. Think I will try it in the crockpot.
Thanks for linking up at DIY Thrifty Thursday!

Michelle,
I have NOT tried the soup in my crock pot but I’m sure it would work. I make my potato soup in the crock pot all the time. I would just add the cheese right before serving!
This is making me hungry. I need to make some extra next time and try to hide it from my kids! 🙂
Hi there- found you through Somewhat Simple’s hop and am a new follower. This sounds so good! I wold love to make this- but I might have to find a substitute for the dried cheese mix- they don’t sell macaroni in a box here! I hope you have time to follow my life in South Africa by http://withoutcomplexities.blogspot.com
Have a great week!
Visiting you from Thrifty Thursday! I love this idea. My daughter was recently put on a gluten free diet, and I could definately make this work for her! And I would love to dig in too! Thanks for sharing!
I love cheeseburger soup…this is going in to favorites!!
You use the same design as I do on my blog.
I also homeschool. Of 4 children, I only have my 14 yr old daughter left at home.
I would love it if you would take time to link up some of your posts each week to my Frugal Friday’s linky. I see some great posts and we have so much in common too.
What a great recipe! Would you come over to my party “Cast Party Wednesday” and share some of your recipes?
Thanks,
I hope to see you there!
Hi Carrie, Thanks for stopping by my blog (Suescraftymess). I just posted the cocoa recipe (along with a cookie). I hope you get a chance to try it out. It takes some stirring to get it dissolved, but the taste is great. And it goes great with the cookies on a cold day!!! Thanks again for all the things you share. I became a follower so I won’t miss any!

I still dont understand what’s behind the Arabo-turkish and mugam tendencies in the Armenia Eurovision songs? No wonder the Turks give high votes. The sincerely like it.Cant we do better?I think it should be boycotted only to act as a wakeup call to change the music. On the other hand who cares, Eurovision is a big joke.
