Cabinet Door Coat Rack

I love to visit Carri at Redefining C.  She’s a very talented lady that makes some amazing signs from cabinet doors as well as other creative things.  Several months ago I saw a coat rack that I wanted to make my mom for Mother’s Day.

This is Carri’s version…LOVE  at first sight!
So I made my own version.  I took a $2 ReStore cabinet door that had already been primed and then stained over it to give it the look it has here.

Next, I cut out the lettering with my Cruicut.

Because I don’t have the vinyl cutter, I used card stock and then mod podged them with about 5 coats.

I got the hooks at ReStore for $1 and painted them black.  Then just drilled the holes and attached the hooks.   To finish it up, I sprayed on several coats of a clear sealer.

It was really a simple process that turned out beautifully.  I ended up giving this one to my mom for Mother’s Day and making another one for my brother for his birthday the next week.

Thanks Carri, for the inspiration!!

Very nice. Check out my blog for other cricut ideas with vinyl. I’m not sure what you mean about the “vinyl cutter”. I just use the regular blade. Message me and we’ll “talk” if you want to.

PS I just graduated my last child from homeschooling so I’m officially retired as a homeschool mom. It seems really weird.
