Coffee Corner Sign

I’ve been trying to spruce up my “coffee corner” and have been wanting to make a sign to go in the empty spot above the coffee maker…so I just put the two together.
This is the empty spot on the wall over my sink and coffee maker …it needs something…don’t you agree?

So I used an old piece of lumber from my scrap pile and created this:

Here’s how I did it…
First I cut my piece of scrap lumber to size and brushed black paint very lightly on the board.

Then I mixed some black and red paint together and applied it…again very lightly.

Using my cutting system, I cut out the stencils and painted the letters white.

After getting the letters right, I generously sanded the whole thing to give it the desired weathered look.

Finally, I just attached this little rusty, star pan that my husband picked up at a flea market for $.50.

I couldn’t be more happy with the results.  I’ll show you the new and improved “coffee corner” later this week.  I’m working on the finishing touches of this space now.

This is great. what is your cutting system? I’m trying to find something other than my printer and an exact-o knife but some solutions are quite expensive. Love the little rusty tin bowl.

    Hi Frannie,
I have the Cricut cutting system. It’s just the little one. I have had it for several years and it does a great job! I can’t imagine cutting out the letters with an exact-o-knife. That must be tedious work!!
    Thanks for stopping by!
