I’m still down in WV with my Mom and Dad. Family has been in and out for the past two weeks. Over the 4th of July all twenty of us were here. It was a great weekend! My brother and his family is here now and so last night I got to enjoy my Sister in Law’s amazing cooking abilities and savor one of my favorite meals she makes. It is her Stromboli. She makes the best I have ever eaten. I made it with her yesterday and not only is it super de-lish…it is really easy too.
This is what you do:
Take 2 frozen bread doughs (like Rhodes’) and let thaw according to the instructions on the package.
(This is a great recipe if you’ve got a busy day ahead. You can thaw your bread dough and let it rise during the day and then have an amazing home cooked meal in about 45minutes.)
Then spread out to almost the size of the cookie sheet. It will keep sliding back but that’s ok…you’ll get the best of it in the end.
Next, add your toppings. We used pepperoni (layered pretty thick), 1/2 a pound of sausage and about 8oz. shredded mozzarella on each Stromboli.
After you have your desired toppings on it…just wrap one side over the other side and pinch the edges closed tightly (like you’re swaddling a baby…I’ve got babies on my mind…our great niece was here this weekend and was the center of attention. She is about the cutest thing ever.)
Then just pop them in the oven at 375 for about 25 minutes or until the tops are nice and golden brown. Make sure the bottom of the Stromboli doesn’t get too dark. The butter/margarine melts and can cause the bottom to get brown very quickly.
Let them cool 5 minutes or so before cutting in to them.

This was NO WHERE near as hard and I thought it would be. It wasn’t quite as good as yours but it was still wonderful! The stakes were high serving my first attempt to your boys but they ate it like troopers!! I will definitely make this again! Thanks!!
