A New Color and a New Home for the Curb-Side Mirror

Back in our Staircase Makeover you could see the mirror I had at the bottom of our steps.

, Saving 4 Six

This mirror was a headboard that someone was getting rid of on the side of the road.  My FIL was kind enough to pick it up and think of me as the benefactor.   When I did the staircase makeover I asked for paint color suggestions for the mirror and black was my choice as well as the majority’s choice.  So black it is!!  I used leftover black enamel from the table and chairs/benches makeover.  After I got it painted, I distressed it a bit by sanding the edges which gave it this look…Awesome huh!?

Well, after getting it finished, I loved it so much I wanted it displayed in a more prominent spot, so I moved it to the living room.  I added a couple finishing touches and VOILA!

Don’t worry, my shabby window turned chalkboard replaced the mirror at the bottom of the steps.

Looks great and I love it even more because of the trash-to-treasure factor. Love it!

This turned out fantastic! I love the ledge on the top. And I’d say black was a fantastic color choice. You definitely turned this “one man’s trash” item into some gorgeous treasure!

If you’d like to share this at my link party this weekend, I’d love to have you. Found you via Shabby Nest.
