Homemade Coffee Creamer

I am ALWAYS running out of coffee creamer!  I try to only buy it when it is on sale and I have a good coupon.  Because that is not as often as I’d like, I frequently run out.  I have a pretty adequate stockpile of many things but creamer…not so much.  Heading to the store just to get coffee creamer costs on gas and I end up buying more at the store than what I really need so I decided to try to make my own coffee creamer and see how it compared to the store bought kind I’m always running out of.

, Saving 4 Six

It was really easy.  This is what the recipe called for:

, Saving 4 Six

14 ounce can of low fat sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 cups of milk ( I used skim)
1 tablespoon vanilla
(this recipe called for vanilla, but I used some caramel flavoring I picked up on clearance for $.50)

, Saving 4 Six

Pour all the ingredients in a mason jar and shake well.  Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

, Saving 4 Six

Ok, so I am sort of a newbie at coffee…consequently, I am somewhat particular about the coffee and creamer I use and this was pretty good.  I’m not sure that skim milk is the best choice…I’m sure it would be creamier if it was 2% or whole but this is a good low fat option.  Enjoy!

Blessings,

Nice~! I will definitely use this recipe. The stores close pretty early out in the sticks where I am. Sometimes I’m up late at night working on web stuff that has to be done while people are sleeping. I often drink a LOT of coffee during those times and typically run out of creamer. Thanks!

Carrie, is that sweetened condensed milk? Can’t wait to try this! We are trying to avoid artificial colors, and some of the flavored creamers(which I love) have them.

I love this idea. I use milk but my husband uses creamer so we run out often.

Wow this is great, my husband drinks a lot of coffee, 16-22 cups a day. So we go through a lot of creamer. I am going to try this. I’d sure love it if you would post this at Sunday’ Best Party, open now! Got to share this!

I am picky about my coffee and creamer too! I love vanilla creamer and prefer the liquid kind opposed to the powder. I will definitely have to try this recipe! Thanks for sharing!

Ohh…I’ve been using powder because it’s cheeper and easier to keep on hand, but I would love to have liquid. Thanks for sharing!

What a great idea. Hubby and I stopped using so much creamer because of the cost. Think I may try this.

I just tried this after reading your post. I didn’t add the vanilla, didn’t have it on hand, and it is very good. A sweet cream flavor. YUM! Thanks!

I've tried making my own creamer before, but not with the condensed milk – only the vanilla. I need to try this. Linking with Titus Tuesday.

Thats a really good idea! I don't like that a lot of the store bought ones aren't even real cream or milk. But they are sooo good ๐Ÿ™‚ This might be a good replacement! Saw you on Bacon Time.
