Wednesday’s What I Found – A Great Deal on Ribbon

Filed Under: Frugal Find, My Shopping Trips, Wednesday's What I Found

The other day I was at a flea market looking for old wreaths to take apart and create my own.  I didn’t find any wreaths but I did find this box of ribbon.

, Saving 4 Six

The box said $1 per roll.

, Saving 4 Six

I thought that was a pretty good deal so I started going through the box and picking out really nice spool after spool.  I had gotten to about 10 spools when I decided to ask “how much for the whole box?”.

, Saving 4 Six

I did see that the box had “$25 firm” written on one of the flaps of the boxes but I was hoping he would go lower and guess what??  He said “$15”!!!

, Saving 4 Six

YAY!!!  $15 was a good price for me so I came home with this box of ribbon filled with almost 120 spools of ribbon and some little stragglers.  I am so excited!!  Do you know how many projects I can use these for???  Oh, who am I kidding…You all are awesome…you can imagine the projects!
Make sure you check back to see how I organize all this ribbon.
Blessings,

Wow – that was a great buy. I think $1 a roll is good, so I would have been thrilled with that price.

I did this with 2000 yard spools of thread at a garage sale in April (they had belonged to a tailor). One flap said .50 and one said .25. My mom was with me, and she asked if they were .25 each or .50 each. Two of the owners answered at once, with different amounts. One said .25 for the whole box! I went home with over 100,000 yards of good thread for .25!
