Changing Table to Storage Bench

Our mudroom makeover is now complete and I couldn’t be more thrilled.  Snow has arrived here in NE Ohio so the boots, coats, gloves, and all the winter mayhem is filling the room.  I am convinced that enough storage and thorough organizing is the only way to keep control of the winter garb.  I wanted a bench in this room and had thought we would just put all our boots and shoes under it but then I realized I didn’t want all of our footwear visible.  So I asked my Better Half if he could come up with some sort of closed storage and this is what he did.

, Saving 4 Six

We bought this dresser when I was pregnant with our oldest…15 years ago…oh how time flies.  He now wears a size 13 shoes and is towering over me.  It was his changing table and dresser.  Then babies started multiplying in the house and so it was used as the dresser for 3 sons before  we needed a larger, and more practical storage unit for them.

, Saving 4 Six

We handed it down to My Princess and painted it white.  You can see that transformation here.  After just a few months we were given a bedroom suit that belonged to my grandmother and so we refinished parts of that and moved that into My Princess’ room instead of the changing table/dresser.

It had been sitting in the garage for a couple of months when My Better Half had the idea to cut off the bottom set of drawers and use the top for a bench and storage in the mudroom.

, Saving 4 Six

How brilliant is he??  It saved on lumber, money, and time.

, Saving 4 Six

It holds our shoes (even with 3 size 13 men in the house)…keeping them all hid nicely.

 Repurposing…It’s the way to go!!

 Blessings,

What a great idea! This is so creative!

And I love that it holds size 13 shoes. My husbands 13 shoes never fit well in our shoe rack. I’m predicting my son to have even bigger feet!

Hi, I saw your link on A Bowl Full Of Lemons and love your idea. What a handy husband you must have and what a lot of use you’ve had from this piece of furniture. It looks really great (I really like the black and white soft furnishings too) and being able to sit down when getting in and out of shoes is a real bonus. I wish I had one! I’ve got the space just not the furniture. I’ve got an article on DIY shoe rack options (http://getsetorganize.com/shoe-racks-for-closets/#eight) – would it be OK to use one of your photos and link back to you? Thanks, Chloe

However, if you have poor credit, then hunt for locations where
these bankruptcies are not checked before supplying the apartment on rent.
Since 1990 a cluster of fine buildings has risen for the south bank with the river, extending the central business
district. grocery, gas station, hospital, school, or workplace, ought to be inside

Do not abuse the trust of your mentor by constantly requesting information that you could survive reading.

A few tricks to incorporate this space to your property marketing plans
can sometimes include:Advertise “featured listing”. With this location going for a closeness with central
Kolkata and Bengal’s IT hub Salt Lake, is creating this sector an ideal selection for the senior executives, who’re ready to invest for both convenience and luxury.

There really is no replacement experience, because that’s how your Realtor has the capacity to zero in on properties that be practical and avoid wasting time on properties that
don’t. Benefitted with up-to-the-mark infrastructure and tremendous
commercial development, the location can be a spectator of some with the prestigious
residential and commercial projects. There will be certain houses
that fall in your price range and some that
    could be too expensive.
