Like many other areas of my home. My crafting area was in need of some serious organization after the holidays (probably before too!).
My area was set up to be a scrapbook area but since I’m doing more scrapbooking digitally and more crafting manually, I wanted to make my area practical for today. I moved all my scrapbooks to the hope chest and am storing them neatly there.
That opened up quite a bit of space on my shelves for other crafting supplies. I’m gonna need it!
The boxes below my counter were all filled with stuff…
And so the purging began…I cleaned out every last box, organized it and labeled it.
You get the idea right?? What’s labeled on the outside is actually what is on the inside…pretty cool, huh!?
Now there is a home for everything and everything is labeled and in it’s place.
My crafting area is so much more user friendly now. Hopefully my productivity will be better and you’ll all see the results!!
The Wallace Family says
Wow! Looks great! I just recently did this to my scraprooom. Of course I don’t have half the space or stuff you have! I am impressed and I am sure now that everything is labeled and has it’s own spot you will totally keep it that way!
Heather says
Your crafting area is gorgeous! I would LOVE to have my area that organized. Your set-up is quite clever and I really love the labels.

Wow! Great job…now it’s all ready to mess up again! Just kidding! With your organization and labeling I don’t see that happening.
Beth @Under A Pile of Scrap! says
That is quite the transformation! I would be afraid to work in it after that for fear of messing it up again. It looks wonderful!
Janet says
WOW, Carrie, that is one awesome transformation! I’ve got a space for you if you want to repeat your makeover magic, lol.

this looks great and you even have room to grow. Not sure if that is good or bad…lol. I love all of the labeling.

I would love to know how you built your counter?? I just love it! My room needs a revamp as well!!!
Carrie says
The counter was built with MDF and we used leftover laminate flooring to cover it. It has held up nicely over the years.
Theresa says
Looks great! There is enough stuff in that room to pay off my mortgage. WOW!! Would love to craft, but the prices of supplies…..YIKES!!!
Carrie says
I’ve been collecting supplies since I went to my first scrapbooking party about 20 years ago. It has been a process but if you know me at all, you know I haven’t paid much for what I have. I’m a thrifty gal!!
Thanks for commenting!

Carrie … I love your blog and your creativity. Amazing how you recyled so well and made it so organized. I am completly in awe of you. I too have heaps, piles, baskets, bins, cartons, shelves, drawers and a huge room full of craft tools, and projects. Every now and then, just to have me super motivated, I’ll clear it up and organize the stuff, but the difficulty is in “keeping it organized”.
You rock honey !

I was wondering where you got your hanging wall shelving- i am looking for something like it. Thanks
Carrie says
I got the shelving unit at Home Depot. It was a closet kit and we just installed it how we wanted instead of the way the instructions gave for the closet set-up. It was cheaper to buy the kit than to buy the pieces separately.

I would also like info on the bottom unit..is that hand made or store bought, I like the length of the bins and the fact that they can be taken out easily, I have a counter top installed but nothing underneath it yet, this would be perfect.
