I know it’s not officially summer but the weather here in NE Ohio has certainly been beautiful!! Over the weekend we had the privilege of going to a MLB game as a family and then staying for a post-game Brandon Heath concert!
It was a lot of fun and was a gorgeous day to hang out at the ball field. Yep, that’s me…the shorty next to all my big men! Why do they grow up so quickly!!??
Anyway, these beautiful days make me want to spruce up my deck for greater enjoyment in the days ahead. Last summer I showed you the pieces parts from an old bunk bed that I used for displaying flowers.
Then I gave you the hint of what I would do with the rest of the parts…
The bench was used most of the summer last year without me painting it…I know, shame on me. But not this summer. I used Terra Cotta Milk Paint and gave it a beautiful, new look.
I stenciled our wedding year on the back of the bench.
I LOVE the new look! Now, I’m looking forward to painting other pieces out there too.
Just a side note…the clematis that is wrapping around the bench has climbed from the ground…about 18 feet below and is making its way up on my deck…{Love it}
I like it. I think my husband and I need to do some projects like you do to bring out our creative side and for the feeling of accomplishment.
that is really nifty! going to pin this one! saw you over at sugar bee crafts.
Very creative bench….I am a big fan of benches and my yard is dotted with several. I am your newest follower and would love it if you would follow me back http://smallholdings.blogspot.com
I currently have a post up about making a farm table from an old door that I bet you would like. Sherron
Wow! You would never know this started off as a bed frame. Great job! Would love it if you shared it at my furniture party http://www.decoratinginsanity.com/2012/05/furniture-friday-16-and-features.html

Oh my gosh that is so great!!!!! I have never seen this before. I’m a new follower and would love if you followed me at http://iheartpears.blogspot.com. Feel free to also add your project to my blog hop as well!!! Thanks so much, can’t wait to come back.
Hi, I just found you through, I think it was Thrifty 101 linky party? I spotted that bench, and zoomed in! I myself, have a headboard and footrest, resting (ha!ha!) in my shed right this very minute, which I got for a bed frame, which, unfortunately, the mechanics of it were not compatible with. Man, oh man, I’ve just discovered what I’m going to do with it!
And…I just became your newest follower, yay! Would be so appreciative if you would reciprocate and follow back! Thanks a bunch!
Have a great weekend! Again, love that bench!!!
Stopping by from The Frugal Girls. Wow, what a great bench! I love the color. Nice job! {I’ll be pinning this great idea!}
This is such a great idea! I would love to feature this on Reduce, Reuse, Upcycle. Feel free to stop by and grab a featured button. Thanks!
Love this! I’m dying to make one if I can find the right bed frame.

I love it! You sure have a way of picking just the right colors of paint. It looks beautiful and I would have never guessed that it started as a bed. Great job! 🙂
P.S. This must be the year for the clematis. I almost pulled mine out last year because it looked so terrible, but I was SO glad that I didn’t. It has been beautiful this year.
Love it. Especially the color.
Wish you some warm and relaxing hours sitting on that bench.
This is so cute!! Hope you can link it up at my brand new Trendy Tuesday party!! http://www.sweetlittlegals.com/2012/05/trendy-tuesday-2.html
I love how that turned out!!! Great job!
Wow! I admire your ability to see the potential in the bed frame. Your family will enjoy it for a long time, and the "Est 1993" definitely makes it an heirloom!
