These Canvas Photos are all the rage right now and I wanted to jump on the bandwagon. I’m so glad I did. Mine is hanging in my basement and fits perfectly in our family room there.
My Better Half came up with the idea to make it a Two-Sided Canvas to get the most bang for our buck.
This is how we made it:
We bought a sheet of pink insulation and had an “industrial print” made of my two favorite pictures. I had an industrial 3″ x 4″ print made at Staples and for black and white it was only around $4. GREAT DEAL!
Using spray adhesive, I sprayed the back of the print…NOT the foam insulation. Be careful for your over-spray as well. I have an unusual line of adhesive on my living room carpet. (Next post…how to get adhesive out of your carpet, just kidding…about the post, not the carpet!)
Lay it carefully on the foam and press out any bubbles. This WILL require two people. Don’t bother trying it on your own…it will be a mess! Then use a utility knife to cut off the extra foam.
Now take black (or whatever color you like) acrylic paint and sponge around the edges. ( I used a sponge brush and just dabbed around the edges.)
After this side dried, I turned over my foam and did the exact same thing on the other side. My Better Half then made a hanger for this cord and inserted it into the top of the foam.
Now, I can keep this picture up for a while,
And when I want a change, just flip it over to this picture.
