Last week I shared with you the easy, inexpensive, and so much healthier microwave popcorn. Well, I kept wondering if there could be more… Anyhow, I got busy experimenting and came up with my version of Microwave Kettle Corn.
It is crazy delicious…addicting even. The perfect blend of sweet and salty.
Here’s what you do.
Mix together in a bowl:
1/4 cup of popcorn
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons cooking oil
2 pinches table salt
Pour all the above ingredients into a brown lunch bag and fold the top down twice.
Pour popcorn in a bowl and let it cool. I know you will tempted to try it right after it comes out of the microwave but WAIT…the sugar WILL be HOT.
While it’s cooling, you might want to mix up and pop another bag, it’s so good…just one bag will not do!

Can’t wait to see you there!
This is such a great idea. My daughter and I just made two bags of this… as you said, one was not enough! I did decrease the amount of oil to 1 teaspoon in the second bag and got just as good results. Thanks for posting it!
tried confectioners sugar, and half season salt for the pinch of salt and it was good- I’m going to up the sugar & oil a little bit next time. But this is definitely a keeper
Where’s the print option?
this is so yummy! I used 1.5 tablespoons of sugar and 2.5 teaspoons of oil. DELISH!
Can I use something else if I don’t have paper bags?
