Too Shabby to be Chic??

Ok, so I have good eyes.  Not braggin’…just sayin’.  I can spot a bargain or a curbside find a mile away!!  So, the last time I was in WV with my parents, I spotted this sign mixed with some other trash on the embankment of a river.  I hopped out of the van and picked up this {beauty?}.

I think my dad had a moment of wonder, as to whether I had completely lost my mind or not, but he smiled as I put it in the van.
I know it is a bit rustic or well just down right rusty, but I like it! I am HUGE Diet Pepsi fan and inexpensive Pepsi memorabilia is hard to come by!

Anyway, I took some mild cleaner and a scrub brush and was able to get the loose rust off to reveal some of the color underneath and touched it up a teeny bit with paint.

I know it’s still pretty shabby but that’s why I’m callin’ out to you.

, Saving 4 Six
I hung it in my hallway with some other shabby aged goodies and wanted your take on it.

Is it too shabby to be chic?
What do you think?

Nope, I was watching one of those picker shows the other night, those signs go for a fortune!

Plus it really is pop culture history!

I think it looks awesome! I would want it to look a bit aged like that. Looks sweet in the hallway too.

Considering your theme, I think it works! If you check out this link http://housepretty.blogspot.ca/2011/11/my-big-reveal.html to one of my posts, there's something way down at the bottom of the page, that you might think is kind of cool.

I LOVE it! And I love Pepsi too, so it’s my kind of decor!

Personally, I like it. If you like it, that’s all that really matters, isn’t it?

I just came across your blog today and I LOVE the Pepsi sign. I used to collect Pepsi, but as I’m getting older I got rid of almost all of it. I still have a few pieces. So it’s nice to see someone else not on the Coke bandwagon, lol. And honestly, I would have picked up the sign too. You did a great job with it.

I like it. You did a great job of bringing the colour up just enough to make it interesting. I’d probably seal the sign with a clear matte fixative in order to prevent it from deteriorating further.

I like it, too. I think there’s beauty in the rescue, the work, and the story. Love projects like this!
