If you’ve been a follower for a while, you will have heard me say that my basement was a dungeon. Thankfully I can say it WAS a dungeon! I’ve looked for pictures from the past and haven’t been able to find any that show the level of nastiness that my basement used to be. Last year, I showed the the transformation of my basement steps…
My basement is the temporary home to some future projects.
This dresser was picked up at a yard sale this summer for $25. I’m still unsure about what to do with it…to paint or not to paint…
This old sewing table was found at Restore for $4. I know I want to paint this one but I”m not sure what colors. Any suggestions?
This two-sided “canvas” print is my favorite part of this room.
My family is so precious to me and I’m glad we have this room to enjoy together.
Don’t miss out on any of my upcoming posts…Follow along!
looks really pretty and comfortable. You did a nice job,
do you still have your craft area in the basement?
It looks like you have made a really nice retreat down there, to enjoy with you family! Great job!
I LOVE seeing basement “makeovers”. Yours looks fabulous! I love the pull out drawers in the stairs~genius! We just got done making over ours and now we’re working on the wall behind the couch. :0)
Very nice!! Looks nice and cosy for sure!
Very nice and cozy. Do you not have a t.v or is it cleverly hidden??
No TV down there but if we do get one…it will be hidden. 🙂
What a lovely way to make family space to hang out in!! I’m sure you and your family spends lots of time together there.
Looks fantastic! I have a similar sewing table that I use as a side table, too. Here’s what I did to spruce it up: http://fakeitfrugal.blogspot.com/2012/03/fake-french-country-furniture-side.html
Could that lovely dresser possibly be tiger maple (all or part)? If so, I would urge you not to paint it, but to refinish it to renew the truly beautiful wood finish. Your basement family room looks great, BTW. Wouldn’t ever suspect it’s a “basement”!
those steps are fantastic! and that dresser really is a beauty. a great space you’ve created :0)
Awesome job! As for the table color – I’d go with something bright (of course I recommend lavender!) and cheerful.
Thanks for sharing,
