Getting Organized

I love to clean and organize but there are some rooms in my house that just pain me.  My Princess’ room is one of those rooms.  She has sooo much stuff and not much space to put it.  So when things are not ever regularly put back where they go, her room ends up looking like this.

Nice, huh?

A friend of ours gave her a cute hand-me-down princess tv and so we had to move things around quite a bit to make room for it.
We purged alot from her dress up and baby doll clothes
and cleaned out and organized her clothes.
We worked on her hair supplies.  Isn’t this a neat way to organize pony tail bands?

, Saving 4 Six

I need to pick up a few more hook clips (carabiners) so I can color code them.

Her headbands are organized and seem to stay neat on this oatmeal container.

, Saving 4 Six

I guess I could cover it to make it look pretty…still haven’t gotten that far!

Her bobby pins stay neat in this little jar.

, Saving 4 Six

I tried sticking the bobby pins to a magnet inside her drawer…that didn’t work.  They fell every time the drawer was closed.

A while ago I showed you this old cabinet door that we turned into a jewelry hanger.  It continues to keep her necklaces organized and not in a big ball in her drawer.

, Saving 4 Six

All we did was put some little nails in this old cabinet door and give it a paint job.

, Saving 4 Six

, Saving 4 Six

We reorganized her shelves and got everything put back in it place (AGAIN).

Now that we’ve moved her furniture around, even though we added a tv, her room actually looks bigger.  It’s been a few weeks since we have gotten it clean and organized and this is what it looks like today.

There is no closet in this bedroom so her clothes all hang in the little built-in space.  I don’t know what we’re gonna do when she is a teenager!!  Only one of the bedrooms in our house has a closet!!  Crazy, huh!?

, Saving 4 Six

I am she is we are working hard to keep it in order now.  I think it’s paying off!

Remember, organizing does not have to be expensive.

Oh,Carrie, I feel your pain. I had a fit last week when I went into my little girls room. It’s been building for quite a while, but I hit maximum overload and scooped up everything on the floor (and there was alot) and put it in garbage bags. She has had to go piece by piece putting everything away. Staying organized is no easy feat. I love the ideas you used for hair accessories. Keep up the good work!
    Blessings,
    Nici

It looks wonderful! I really have to get my girls’ rooms done again. The rooms get so bad just so quickly!

Looks awesome! You could keep her ponies (I’m glad I’m not the only person who calls them that!) inside of the oatmeal can, unless you keep other fun hair things in there. 🙂

I think the oatmeal canister would look cute covered in apretty scrapbook paper or pretty contact paper. Leave thetop Iioff and drop the combs& brushes inside. Or if they arent too tall, you could put s little round mirror on the lid. Waa La

Wow! It really does look bigger now, doesn’t it?! LOVE the purple…my fave. I knew a family that lived in a 100 year old farm house. 4 girls, one boy…one bathroom, and the only closet was in the “master” bedroom downstairs (the bathroom was downstairs, too). So I KNOW what you’re going through with only one closet! You are doing an amazing job of it! Dona

Great job of organizing. And I’m a fan of purple, so I love her room. I, too, grew up in an old farm house. Fortunately, the rooms were large and dad built cabinets/closets in each room. Thank goodness because there were 4 girls and 1 boy (the oldest), with 1 bathroom!!

Looks great. I think girls rooms are the hardest to organize because they have so much stuff, mostly little stuff.

Sigh…my daughters room looks just like your before pic! I know if I just got in there to help her organize, she would be able to keep it under control. Thanks for the tips and ideas. I needed motivation to get back in there!
