I’ve told you before that I love the sweet and salty combination. Well, I was looking for a easy, yummy recipe to take to a game night at church and I found this recipe from Six Sisters’ Stuff. It is for No-Bake Buckeye Bars. The addition of pretzels to the “normal” buckeye is this recipe’s secret ingredient and I will say that is a perfect addition.
Here’s what you need:
For the Bars:
2 cups peanut butter
3/4 cups of unsalted butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
3 cups pretzel sticks, crushed
For the topping:
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
crushed pretzels
Here’s what you do for the bars:
Cream the peanut butter and butter.
Then add powdered sugar and crushed pretzels and combine well.
Line a 9×13 pan with parchment paper and then spray the parchement paper with cooking spray. Spread the peanut butter mixture into the pan and set aside while you prepare the topping.
Now for the topping:
In the microwave, melt the 1/2 cup peanut butter and chocolate chips, stirring every 30 seconds until nice and smooth.
Then just pour and spread this on top of the peanut butter mixture. You can then garnish this with some crushed pretzels.
Refrigerate for at least 90 minutes before cutting.
These were a big hit at our church game night and they were way easier to make than regular buckeyes.
