Bright Accent Pieces

So, I know I told you last week that I was finished painting furniture for the boys’ room but I stopped at Restore last Friday and found this beauty for $5.  Ok, so if I’m really honest with you, I didn’t think this piece was a beauty but it was only $5 and it had potential.  It wasn’t until I got it home that I decided to use it as a night stand in the boys’ room.

With the dark chests of drawers and wardrobes, their room was in need of a pop of color.  The yellow ended up being PERFECT.

This mirror came with a $20 dresser I bought last Summer.

This too will go in the boys’ room.  So, it got a bright splash of yellow too.

Isn’t it crazy what a little bit of paint will do??!!

Don’t miss out on any of my upcoming posts…Follow along!

It really is stunning how paint can transform a piece. I have several projects that I need to tackel and I’ll keep this post in mind…so easy!

Love those bright pieces! I have pieces to paint that hubs and I can’t agree on for color. He’s ultra-cautious. That yellow would sure brighten things up here.

It’s been a long time since I painted furniture! For the last 10 years I fell for the surface beauty of the sawdust board, put it together yourself stuff, that scuffs so easily and the joints looses because of the soft wood. So recently I got a small side table with drawers and am planning to paint it, too. It is a 70’s style but now I can see what a bright splash can do to bring it into todays decor! Thanks for the inspiration!

I love them both! They were amazing buys at the price. Here in Sydney it is hard to get good bargains. It is amazing what paint will do!

I love how you’re coordinating mismatched pieces. Your yellow color really livens things up and makes everything seem like a set. Have a lovely day!

Wow that looks great! I actually have the same piece as a side table in our living room. (It also came from a thrift store.) How funny is that. Love the yellow though. I think you may have inspired me to get to painting ours! Found you through Craft o Maniac’s Monday link up.

That is beautiful. I’ve seen these ugly little side tables a lot (I think we had one growing up) but I’ve never been able to see their value until now! Thanks for sharing and blessings to you, Patti

Sometimes I have a hard time seeing the potential in really old furniture. Thanks for giving me some inspiration! This was the most viewed link at last week’s Whatever Goes Wednesday party, so we’ll be highlighting it at tomorrow’s party. We hope you’ll come by and link up again!

What type of paint did you use on this piece? I am always curious and sometimes bloggers forget to tell us newbies that are still trying to figure out this painting stuff. Thanks.
