Well, my painting and waxing is just about done for the boys room and quite honestly, I am EXHAUSTED! From the homemade chalk paint to the homemade tinted wax. Then the TV cabinet makeover to the complete transformation. The night stand makeover was next and the headboards were shortly behind. Now it leads me to show you my favorite of the bunch… the wardrobes.
I got three of them at ReStore for $16 each. They had been pieces used in a nursing home facility. They needed some work but with a little lot of elbow grease, they were turned into this…
I used my homemade chalkpaint
The wardrobe on the right is with the chalk paint alone. The one of the left is after using the homemade tinted wax.
Above is a close up of the chalk paint alone.
And below…with the tinted wax.
Once I was done with the initial painting, the doors needed a little something, so I added some blue grain sack stripes. I love what they did for these pieces.
I spray painted the hardware with a glossy gray. I wasn’t to keen on the glossy to begin with but it has grown on me over the course of the makeovers.
And now the finished product…

OH! I love it, I love how you added the stripe too, it adds character to an otherwise very plain door 😉
