I remember very vividly shopping with my mom for school supplies. I got a new pair of shoes, a couple shirts (if I was lucky), a binder, and some pencils. That was it…but it was still fun and exciting. Things have changed a bit over the past 30 years and a student supply list is not what it used to be. The entire school shopping process can be a pretty overwhelming, stressful, and expensive task.
Walmart has just stepped and made that task easier and of course less expensive with a program called Classrooms by Walmart.
So, here’s the scoop: With Classrooms, teachers can create a registry and build their own classroom supply list. Then, parents can visit the Classrooms curated school lists to get started purchasing school supplies for their kids. Pretty convenient, huh?!
Signing up is easy, just head over to Classrooms by Walmart and click on “Parents Sign up” in the top menu bar. Then fill out the information and click “Sign Up”.
Now to Search for your school in the registry just visit Classrooms and click on “Find a list” at the top. Select the school, city, and state. I was able to find our local school in just a minute. Then, hover over the title “view school lists”. If you can’t find your school’s list, it’s no problem. Just select the “click here to request a list button” to send an email to your teacher.
Finally, using the supply list associated with your school and grade, just shop away. You could have your school shopping done in just a few minutes!
If you are a teacher you can head over to Classrooms by Walmart and sign up using the steps above except click on “Teachers Sign up” in the top menu bar. Then you can create the supply list you or your students will need throughout the year.
Now as if I didn’t have you at “easier and less expensive”, this program just got better. With EBoxTops, a school can earn cash back when someone shops online at Walmart.com. Simply start your shopping trip at Classrooms.walmart.com, choose your school from the list, shop online and earn up to 4% cash back for your school.
As a bonus, Walmart’s partners at Lysol will award over $50,000 in cash prizes to the schools that earn the most cash back between 7/15/2013 and 10/31/2013.
To check if your school is signed up, visit the Cash for Schools website. If they aren’t registered, don’t click the sign up button as this is for school administrators. Instead, share the downloadable PDF “Free Cash For Your School” with your school administrator by email, or print it out.
So, Classrooms by Walmart is just a win, win,…win. Save time, hassle, and money for yourself and earn some cash for your school. Sounds like a great plan to me!
