I’m continuing with my month of frozen meals and I’m LOVING it. If you’re new here, at the end of November, I prepared meals for the entire month of December and it has been a HUGE help in this busy month. One of the meals I made that I wish I had thought of sooner is Frozen Pizzas. I buy them occasionally and they are expensive and not really very tasty. But I started wondering if I could make my own frozen pizzas using my pizza crust and toppings I love. So, I gave it a shot and it worked PERFECTLY!
I made my regular pizza dough and made four pizzas, using the disposable foil pizza pans. I added sauce and my favorite toppings and then covered thoroughly with foil and froze them.
When I was ready to use them, I just pulled them out of the freezer and popped them in the oven at 375 degrees for 25 minutes or until crust is lightly browned on the bottom.

Below, is the printable version of my homemade pizza dough.
- 2½ cups warm water
- 1 TBSP yeast
- ⅓ cup sugar
- ⅓ cup oil
- 2 heaping tsp. salt
- 6½ cups flour
- Combine warm water and yeast in mixing bowl and let sit for 5 minutes or until yeast and water begin to foam.
- Add the rest of ingredients, mix and then knead well. I use my kitchen aid with the dough hook attachment but kneading by hand if fine too.
- Let raise for 1½ to 2 hours before spreading in the pizza pan.
So, if you’re looking for a scrumptious, quick dinner, look no further!

That looks super handy! I need to do this. This would be great when I am gone and my husband needs something easy. 🙂 Thanks for the idea!

Oh I am really liking this. I bet these beat those $5 take-out pizzas hands down in taste and value. Question: do you think the foil pan could be used more than once?

Hi Carrie,
I never thought of creating the whole pizza and freezing—great idea. I do make my own pizza dough and usually make an extra one to freeze. Someday when I invest in an extra freezer, I will do this, but for now, the pizza dough ball takes up less room. I just love these handy, homemade ideas! Thank you for sharing!

Hi Carrie,
This is a great pizza to have on hand for the holidays, just pop it out of the freezer and it is ready to bake, very good! Thanks so much for sharing with Full Plate Thursday and have a very Merry Christmas!

I make homemade Pizza Pockets – but cook them before freezing them because the ‘raw’ pizza dough doesn’t seem to cook properly otherwise.
How does your frozen dough stand up to ‘rising’ during cooking? Do you cook your pizza frozen … raw dough too? Or do you cook your pizza’s first, then freeze them; thaw them out, and then cook them?
JC; it does look delish 🙂

I will have to try this. I have frozen just the dough before and then used it but you still have to thaw it, roll it out and put toppings on it. This looks like a real time saver.

A few months ago, I tried making pizzas for the freezer. I worked ALL day and made about 15 pizzas. It was such a huge success that they were gone in 3 days! Now I just make them fresh, one meal at a time 🙂
