I love getting gift cards as gifts and this year for my birthday I was treated like a queen! I got several gift cards from some of my favorite stores, where I was able to go and shop…guilt free. It was so fun!!
On one of my shopping trips I came across these cute towel hooks that work perfectly for our family. They are little chalkboards where the kiddos can write their names and other little messages.
I am not a wash your towel everyday kinda gal and you know…when they’re not hung up, they, well…stink.
The back of doors and door knobs were just not cutting it anymore.
My kids have done a great job hanging up their towels now that they have their own designated spot…YAY!
You may remember these plastic boxes that we keep all our toothbrushes and personal items in. I recently updated them because their name tags had started coming off and fading a bit since I first made over the closet HERE.
I use these burlap covered boxes to store all our bathroom supplies.
They have held up really well since I covered them HERE over two years ago.
All they need is the occasional “trimming”.
Now a couple little cleaning tips for the bathroom. My Sister showed me this one over at her blog and I’ve put it into practice in my house. It’s a simple solution to a really nasty problem. What do I do with the plunger after I plunge? Do I really stick it in the tub that my kids are gonna bathe in tonight? I think not!!
I put this empty dishwasher detergent container in the bathroom with the plunger in it. It keeps the nasties contained after the “deed is done”.
This other cleaning trick I came across here and thought it was brilliant.
Scrub the toilet and then leave the brush in between the seat and base until the brush dries. This lets the brush dry and reduces the chances of dripping “stuff” on the floor. Another purpose of this is to let the family know that the toilet is being cleaned and that they shouldn’t flush the cleaner down the toilet.
So, I hope these help you keep your bathroom clean and organized. They sure help us!

I love that toilet scrubber under the seat trick! I will have to get into the habit of doing that from now on. I also decided to hang coat racks for wet towels. We have been just flinging them over the shower door, but that just looks so messy! Thanks for the tip – have a great week!

Love your new hooks. Your sister’s idea for the plunger is so clever! And thank you for sharing my little cleaning trick.

So what personal items do you put in their plastic boxes? I only have 2, but they are both girls and it would cut down on the arguing of what belongs to who, etc. Love the plunger idea too. We keep ours in a plastic grocery sack.

That wall works perfect for the towels!!!! I want some hooks too!! 🙂

Love the hooks! I put a shower rod across the top of the tub (lengthwise down the middle) and we hang our towels on that but the hooks are great if you have the wall space! 🙂 Good idea for the plunger and scrubber too!

I love the way you organized the towels for your family. We use our towels a couple times too. Thanks for sharing at Throwback Thursday.

We already have the bucket going. But I really like your idea with the toilet brush. I’m going to try to get the linen closet (only space close to tiny bathrooms) and I will do the individual’s boxes. It should make life easier. Thanks for the ideas,
Janet
