You know about 40 Bags in 40 Days, right? It’s 40 plus days of cleaning, purging, and just basically getting rid of what you don’t need in your life, and making room for what is most important. It began ( at least my challenge did) on March 5th and will run through April 19th. I have been working diligently to clear, clean, organize, and just basically purge. Some things have gone in the trash, many have gone to donation centers, and others have been give to friends and family that will use the things more. It’s been a great process so far but I still have a ways to go.
Anyway, I thought I’d show you my “bags” so far and the areas that I have cared for in the process.
I was able to get rid of all this stuff in the first few weeks from these areas of my house:
My Mudroom
In here, I cleared out all my Dollar Store Boxes that I made-over,
and got all the winter boots put back in the basement and got all the shoes put neatly back in the changing table to bench storage space.
It’s now all clean, spiffy, and ready for Spring!
My Princesses’ Bedroom
Her bedroom is always in desperate need of attention because it is such a small room and because she is such a pack rat!
My Craft Area
After Christmas, my craft area was a disaster. That’s what happens where I’m trying to get it all together before the holidays, so it needed a good cleaning out and purging.
I went through all my boxes and got rid of what I know I’m never going to use again and passed some supplies on to friends who I think will use them. I also organized what I was going to keep, making it easier to find what I’m looking for.
My Basement Family Room
I’m not quite done with this area, I’m going through some totes and a crate over in the corner but am making progress.
This week, I’m working more in the basement, cleaning out the refrigerator, and hoping to go through some clothes in the boys’ rooms.
It’s gonna be a busy week, but one day and one “bag” at a time!

Stopping by from the Modest Mom. This is a great idea! And blogging about it keeps you motivated I’m sure. It will feel so good when you are finished. Makes me want to get busy myself.
