I use shredded chicken in many recipes. Crock Pot Chicken and Dumplings, Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos, and my Two Ingredient Crockpot Chicken are a few of my favorites. In all of these recipes, I like to shred my chicken, and up to a few months ago, I shredded my chicken with two forks. It was on the low end of my “favorite jobs” list until I learned how to shred cooked chicken in my mixer.
It is the easiest, fastest way you could ever imagine.
Here’s how you do it:
Cook the chicken.
Place it in the mixer bowl.
Using the beater, beat chicken on 2 for 30 seconds.
The chicken shreds very quickly, so watch it so you don’t over shred it. Trust me…I’ve done it.
THAT IS IT!! You will have perfectly shredded chicken. This is such a great time saver… you have to give it a try!!

Thanks for a great tip, Carrie!
Do you think this would work with a handmixer?
I LOVE this tip! I cook chicken in the crockpot for receipes twice a month. I HATE to shred it. This is awesome. Do you do it while it is still hot or do you wait for it to cool?
Hi Carrie – I never knew it was this easy! Do you think this method would work with pork (for pulled pork)?

Looking for a receipe/meathod for cooking a batch of boneless chicken breasts. After shreaded or cubed, I will freeze in cup size portions to use in receipes that call for cooked chicken. Thanks!
