Summer is my most favorite season (if you didn’t already know that)! I love the break from school, the temperatures, and the delicious produce that is so very affordable this time of year.
Yesterday, I made zucchini bread from some hand-me-down zucchinis, and for dinner I made this delicious Crock Pot Cabbage and Sausage.
Using my crock pot during the Summer is such a great way to save on time in the kitchen and helps avoid overheating the kitchen on an already hot day. This is the first time I have made my cabbage this way but it is my new favorite way! The crock pot is my friend, no matter what the season. 😉
This is about the easiest recipe out there. All you need is a head of cabbage, a medium onion, and a 13-16 oz. package of Smoked Sausage or Polska Kielbasa.
Cut up the cabbage, onion, and sausage and place in the crock pot.
Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for approximately 4 hours. I stirred mine a couple of times along the way.
Remove from crock pot, salt and pepper to taste, and VOILA! Dinner is served!
This is comfort food at its finest, for me!! Next time, I’m going to throw in some noodles at the end and enjoy cabbage and noodles this way too!
Enjoy!!

Thanks for the Cabbage and Kielbase recipe. All I need is the cabbage. Those are all the things we like so it should be good. Keep up the good work. Yours truly- Elaine in Luray VA
