A few weekends ago, My Better Half and I were heading into town and spotted a moving sale sign. I’ve found that moving sales are the best ones. People are serious about getting rid of stuff since they don’t want to take it with them. Well, this sale was no different and I had a blast!
The seller had old drawers of all sizes and crates stacked on each other to cover an entire wall of his workshop and create a massive shelving unit. It was impressive to say the least. There was a sign that said “Any drawer – $3”. I thought $3 was a great price and I fully intended to get a drawer or two.
Well, then I came across these old crates and since I love old crates, I asked him how much they were. He said that I could have anything on the wall for $1. ONE DOLLAR??? Oh my, yes please!! I had a FIELD DAY!!
I have a special plan for this $1 drawer, I’ll show you later.
This slate chalkboard was $1 too. It was a great dollar day!
Now, these drawers were anywhere from 3 to 4 feet in width. Some of them had dividers and some didn’t and they were all the same price.
So, I snatched up a few of these and one with dividers, tipped up on it’s side is working well as my new school shelf.
On the top is my slate with our word for the year…Purpose.
I LOVE my dollar finds and they make a cute, frugal, practical space that we’ll use and enjoy all year long!
