Bedtime is my favorite.
With the super crazy days, there is nothing like climbing into bed with My Better Half for a good night’s sleep. But most nights, just before we climb into bed there is a whole lot of tugging, pulling, and sheet adjustment going on.
We have a pretty thick mattress and none of our sheets seem to fit it properly.
Sometime during the night, the sheet starts to pull loose and will often pop right off the mattress.
We have tried sheet suspenders but those seem to pop off leaving us in the same predicament each night and our bed looking and feeling like a mess by morning.
So, the other day when I took the sheets off to wash them, I had a light bulb moment. Why not make my own permanent sheet suspenders?
This was a crazy simple fix to a problem we were dealing with EVERY night.
The process was simple: Attach a 12 inch piece of elastic to each of the corners of the bed sheet with a zigzag stitch.
The zigzag stitch will hopefully displace some of the pull on the sheet and will keep the sheet from ripping at the seam. (I’ll keep you updated on this as time goes by)
Once I got the sheets back on the bed the elastic held them neatly in place, even throughout the night.
I love those light bulb moments. I wish I had more of them!
Anyway, if you have fitted sheets that don’t fit properly, let me encourage you to give this simple fix a try.
I think you’ll be pleased!!

Ljust got this same idea and went to Google looking for directions. Wish you had given details on length of elastic, where to sew, etc.

A genuine “hack”!!!! I have the same problem with a deep mattress and had considered tapes across the underside but this is so ridiculously obvious – a real “why didn’t I think of that” moment. Thank you so much – I’ll be off to the haberdashery store in the morning.
