I don’t frequent my local ReStore as much as I used to, but occasionally, they have a sale of 20% off everything and this weekend was that such sale.
I wasn’t looking for anything in particular and those are usually the times when I find the most. I LOVE it when that happens!
My Better Half and I came across this massive TV cabinet. It was dirty, but still in really great shape.
My wheels started turning and when I saw the price…I just couldn’t pass it up!
$45 and then 20% off, making it $36.
So, despite its need for a good cleaning, it was well worth the money.
If you’re new around here, I’ll have to let you know that we live in a 100 year old house, that has very few closets. My Princess has one of the rooms without a closet and so we’ve been making due elsewhere….UNTIL NOW!
We removed the pedestal that the tv would sit on and are saving that for another project and hung a bar and a wireless light inside.
And transformed this old TV cabinet into a wardrobe for My Princess. Brilliant, huh??
Lest you wrongly thing that she only has three dresses, here’s what it looks like today:
She is a girlie girl and was in need of something like this for her room. I’m so excited that we were able to find something that fit perfectly, worked perfectly, and looks pretty good too.
So remember, when you’re looking for a piece of furniture for a particular project, think outside the box. These old TV cabinets are everywhere for cheap or free. Here’s another one of our transformed TV cabinet projects:
You can see that entire post HERE.
Happy Repurposing!!
Great job. $36! When I was 5, my Dad made me a wardrobe out of an old oak dresser because I couldn’t reach the closet bar. I loved it. It was just like Barbie’s.
