I’m intoxicated with spray paint right now. Wait a minute…not intoxicated like the bad intoxicated, or the Walmart lady asking me if I was old enough to buy spray paint, intoxicated (just kidding, she really didn’t ask me…oh how I wish!!), but the intoxicated because I’ve done so much of it lately and things look amazing because of it, intoxicated. Maybe I should have just chosen another word…
In the last two days I have bought and used 10 cans of spray paint and I am having the time of my life. I know…pretty pathetic, right?? But seriously, spray paint just brings me pleasure. Ugh…ok, the RESULTS of spray paint bring me pleasure…better?
Oh my! So awhile ago my local ReStore was throwing out a bunch of old chairs and because My Better Half is AWESOME, he let me bring them all home! Yep, three trips to the ReStore in one day is a good day. They sat in my garage for a long time before we set many of them out by the road for some other fellow
hoarder inspired individual. I kept four and this week, the light bulb finally turned on and the spray paint went a-sprayin’. It was a GOOD day!
We’re having the youth group over this weekend and so I’ve been working out on the deck trying to spruce up our old furniture. Hence, the 10 cans of spray paint! But, I was trying to come up with some additional seating when I remembered these old, ugly chairs in the garage.
The seat of the chairs were in good shape, just covered with some very dated material. I covered them with an old canvas drop cloth I had on hand from another job. Covering chairs is one of the fastest makeover you can do. New material, a few staples and voila, a new look.
I lightly applied the spray paint so the chair would still have its rustic look. It fits my 100 year old home perfectly.
It amazes me EVERY time, what a little spray paint can do!!
[…] After hours of spray painting, I’ve decided to step in out of the paint fumes and get some blogging done. Isn’t spray paint just the greatest!!?? I found this old chair in the Restore garbage, as well as three other of its counter parts and brought them home to receive a super fun, bright, spray paint makeover. You’ve got to see the finished product…SO cute!!! Oh, you can see it HERE. […]
[…] Last week, I told you about the work I was doing out on my deck with my old friend, “spray paint”. We go way back, but every time we get together I like him more!! If you missed the amazing transformation of this old chair, I saved from the garbage pile, you can check it out HERE. […]
