Do you ever get in those moods where you just want a change? Winter has a way of getting me in those kinds of moods. I sit inside these four walls day in and day out and get tired of the dreary and ordinary. Early last week, my creative juices got flowing and I had this idea to change up my living room a bit.
Remember my fancy closet office makeover? Well, hidden up in the top of our garage was the closet door that went on that closet…before the transformation. Well, I asked My Better Half to get it down for me and I decided to mount it to the wall and add some photos to it.
My Better Half is so handy…I just love that man. He pulled it down, scrubbed it clean, and then mounted the door to the wall using the hinges that were still on the door. This is a hundred year old door, so it is showing some wear but that just adds to the character, right!?
I’m borrowing a cutting machine right now and so I was able to cut this verse in vinyl and I LOVE it!! I adhered it to the door and then started selecting pictures and pulling picture frames out of storage boxes.
The finished product is perfect and just the change I was looking for. It is a constant reminder of what is really important to me and where my focus should lie.
So, if you come across an old door or have one stashed somewhere, here’s a fun way to repurpose and LOVE it!
Get Creative,
Love it!
This is just so awesome! What a great family treasure 🙂
Now this is a great idea. We are trying to declutter to get the house ready for the market, otherwise this would be a great DIY for the den. Have a wonderful weekend.
