Our Weekend Project – The Sink

Ok, I know I’ve told you about the Habitat for Humanity Restore Outlets but I just have to tell you again because last weekend we enjoyed our most amazing finds to date!  I’m not going to tell you what all we bought YET because many items have to be installed or “tweaked” a bit. So, I’ll tell you and show you when we get them finished.  For those of you that don’t know, we have an almost century money pit  home that we have worked on for almost 17 years.  We have fixed it up along the way, being as frugal as possible.  My better half (really he is…if you knew us both you would agree) is an amazing handy man and is willing to take on just about any task.

This was the little project we took on this weekend.

I really like my sink area but when we picked out our sink I was in extreme frugal mode, not practical or realistic mode so we got this little, shallow, cheap sink.  We were really excited about the cool spraying faucet but quickly found that it was not all it was cracked up to be and that practical is most always better.

This leads me to my first find of the day…this awesome (to me) porcelain sink and faucet.

It is in beautiful condition and the faucet and plumbing is already attached.  This made for much less painful installation.  And the very best part is that we got it all for $57.60 !!  OH SO COOL!  My better half installed it and we used a little rubbing compound and got it looking beautiful.  It fits perfectly in my country kitchen too.

I LOVE A BEAUTIFUL BARGAIN!
